I’m John Bee - a teacher, leader, and maths enthusiast.

For over a decade, I’ve taught in primary schools across the North East of England, Spain, and China. I’ve led teams, driven curriculum change, and seen what works (and what doesn’t) when it comes to helping children learn.

I'm a Primary Mastery Specialist with the Great North Maths Hub, where I support schools to build strong, sustainable approaches to teaching maths. My master’s degree focused on Teaching for Mastery and I’ve spent years turning that research into classroom reality.

I’ve written three books on teaching and learning, each rooted in real classrooms and written to help teachers take action. Through my writing, resources, and training, I aim to strip away the noise and focus on what really helps children learn.

I founded Mr Bee Teach to make maths teaching clearer, smarter, and more engaging. Everything here is made for busy teachers who want to get better - without the fluff.
