Bringing Meaningful Maths to Life on the Big Screen: My Partnership with TrilbyTV

A question I am often asked is how schools can keep mathematics visible, valued and talked about beyond the exercise book.

That question sits at the heart of my continued partnership with TrilbyTV, and it is why I am pleased to share the latest phase of our work together.

Why TrilbyTV?

Digital signage is now a familiar feature in many primary schools. Screens in classrooms, corridors and shared spaces have the potential to support learning, but only when they are used with purpose.

From the beginning, TrilbyTV has shared a view I strongly believe in: technology should support learning rather than distract from it. Content should encourage thinking, discussion and curiosity, not simply fill space.

TrilbyTV is a digital signage platform designed specifically for education, with a content catalogue that prioritises curriculum alignment and learning impact. This approach makes it an ideal partner for Mr Bee Teach.

Mr Bee Teach Content on TrilbyTV

Most recently, we have worked together again to bring Calculating Mass to TrilbyTV screens in primary schools.

This resource is designed to draw pupils’ attention to key mathematical structures and relationships. It is not about quick answers, but about noticing, reasoning and making connections. The aim is to provoke discussion and thinking that can be picked up later in the classroom.

The task is available through the TrilbyTV Content Catalogue and can be easily added to a school’s digital signage feed. Whether displayed in classrooms or shared spaces, it offers a simple way to make mathematical thinking visible across the school day.

Why Daily Maths Tasks Work on Digital Screens

The intention behind Mr Bee Daily Maths Tasks has always been the same: to help maths make sense for all children.

Displaying these tasks on digital signage gives them a different kind of presence. Maths becomes public, routine and something worth talking about. Children see mathematical ideas regularly, not just during maths lessons.

Each task is carefully structured to link arithmetic with key concepts. Variation is used to help pupils notice what changes and what stays the same. Sentence stems support precise language and reasoning, giving pupils confidence to explain their thinking.

This design approach has been central to the partnership with TrilbyTV since the very beginning and continues to guide the work we do together.

A Shared Focus on Purpose and Impact

What makes this partnership particularly valuable is a shared belief that digital signage should serve learning, not simply display information.

TrilbyTV approaches screens as a way to reinforce learning, celebrate thinking and create moments that encourage curiosity. That philosophy closely matches why Mr Bee Teach was created in the first place: to provide mathematically sound, thoughtfully designed resources that genuinely support teaching and learning.

Looking Ahead

This partnership is about more than individual resources. It is about keeping mathematics visible across school life, supporting high expectations for all learners, and valuing mathematical thinking wherever learning happens.

I am proud that Mr Bee Teach resources continue to reach schools across the UK through TrilbyTV, and I am excited about how this work will continue to develop.

If your school uses TrilbyTV, you can find Mr Bee Teach content in the Content Catalogue and add it to your screens straight away.

Maths does not only belong in books. It belongs in conversations, classrooms and shared spaces across the school.
