Maths a day keeps the teacher away

We all know the importance of regular retrieval practice. With the maths curriculum being so crowded and full of concepts to learn, it is important to regularly revisit previously taught concepts and make connections and links.
Our daily tasks are designed to focus on core concepts for Key Stage 1 and Key Stage 2.
Each task includes an arithmetic starter which builds fluency and links to the main activity.
The main activity is focused on a core concept and covers the whole curriculum. They are heavily weighted towards place value, the four operations, fractions and geometry.
Each activity has a stem sentence which focuses on the structure of the problem. This allows children to construct their answer and guide their thinking and reasoning.
